Our Metro Chair/Mobility Division provides wheelchair transportation services throughout our service areas. Life E.M.S. demonstrates a strong commitment to community involvement. This is evidenced by the first aid and CPR classes, high school EMT classes, and Camp 911 summer day camps, led by our staff, as well as medical support for special events such as festivals and athletic contests. Life Ambulance is a designated American Heart Association (AHA) Community Training Center. In addition, the Life E.M.S. Our philosophy at Life E.M.S. Ambulance has always been to provide the highest quality care with the lowest out-of-pocket cost. Hence, the best value for those we serve. The Life Care Plus Membership program extends this tradition by providing a way to fight rising health insurance co-payments and deductibles (the amount you pay).

Company History

Forty years ago, in an office not much larger than a walk-in closet, two Grand Rapids medics and friends, Mark Meijer and Ken Morris, launched careers in a relatively new field of emergency medicine. Those early days provided challenges typical of start-ups, but none that would become insurmountable. Today, our expert team of approximately 550 associates proudly serves a ten-county area. Rest assured, we’re equipped and trained for any emergency on land or water, whether rural, urban or suburban, with field personnel, specialty fleet and equipment at the ready.
