The City Archives is an excellent place to work for people interested in local government and local history. Our staff is very knowledgeable and professional. We make sure all of our workers are trained and we provide plenty of support for those who work at our facility. There is roughly 183 years of records at our facility and we have various jobs for our workers to complete. Some of the work includes database work, digitizing historical photos, and completing research for City of Grand Rapids staff, citizens, and researchers.

Company Information

The City of Grand Rapids Archives is part of the City Clerk's Office and stores all the City's government records. We make sure they’re preserved and accessible to citizens and employees for research purposes. Our records date from 1838 to the present and includes City Commission records, historic photographs, historic maps, building plans, tax records, court records, and other related records. We also have the historic archive for the Grand Rapids Public Schools, which includes records from the late 19th Century to the present.
