City of Grand Rapids Office of Special Events

Working in the OSE's logistics and equipment department will offer the opportunity to see how a municipality functions, firsthand. More importantly, it will show how outside organizations partner and collaborate with a government institution to complete a task. These skills could be invaluable for someone seeking careers in the public sector. Working directly with the Special Event Aide, the candidate will coordinate, deliver, set-up and tear down equipment that the OSE rents to events. In doing so, the candidate will learn the basics of delivery logistics and also gain practical mechanical/physical set-up skills.
